 Hi, I am Sahanah.

I am a student in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. Hong Kong has been home to me since 2021.  I enjoy engaging in multidisciplinary academic exploration with topics that range from Music to the behavior of the brain. Recently, I have dedicated my efforts to conducting research on "Music and Brain Behavior," specifically investigating the effect of my music composition as a therapeutic intervention to alleviate anxiety and depression in clinically diagnosed patients. My research is ongoing at Buddhi Clinic, a multidisciplinary Neuro Psychiatric clinic located in Tamil Nadu, India. For more information, dive into the research page.
I enjoy actively participating in various extracurricular activities. I hold executive roles in prominent clubs such as the World Health Club, where I serve as an event coordinator. I facilitate organizing and executing events that promote the health and well-being of my fellow students at CDNIS. I am an Internal Engagement Officer at the Alpha Leo Club, CDNIS Chapter (Lions International). We engage in community outreach activities to build awareness for social issues such as Period Poverty and Divided Housing in Hong Kong. Additionally, I contribute my time to other organizations, including the Model United Nations and The Reading Tree.

It gives me immense joy to express my creativity through diverse artistic pursuits, such as singing and composing music, wildlife photography, playing the piano or guitar, and my involvement in the performing arts. I contribute my talent to live performances, singing with the stage band at school and theatre productions.

Traveling and understanding different cultures and communities has always fascinated me and helped me grow as a person. My interaction with the Maasai, for example, has helped further amplify my intellectual and personal growth, leading up to my forming the NGO - Equity for Youth.
I envision my future in a career that merges the realms of science and music, where I can look to make meaningful contributions to society..
